Increase Your Amazon Affiliate Earning Potential With Universal Links

April 29, 2017 by Heidi Murphy 8 Comments

When I started blogging I realized quickly that Amazon had one of the top affiliate programs. However, I noticed many bloggers using US Amazon affiliate links. If I purchased using the US link in Canada they would not receive their commission. I knew I would have traffic from both the US and Canada so I knew I had to solve this problem. There wasn’t a whole lot of information online on this issue, none of the solutions were clear and many you had to pay for. However, I eventually found a solution I am happy to share with you which will increase your amazon affiliate earning potential with universal links

Tutorial: Increase Your Amazon Affiliate Earning Potential With Universal Links

First, you need to sign up for the various Amazon affiliate programs your traffic is coming from. My traffic primarily comes from Canada, the United States and the UK so I signed up for those three programs. Next I used this link generator to generate links. This generator will send Canadian traffic to Amazon.ca and American traffic to Amazon.com and so on. However, to send the traffic to the proper product and for you to get the commission there are a few additional steps. For each link you need to enter your tracking Ids from each amazon affiliate program your are signed up with.

Then for each product you search it the same way you always would and get the text link. Then you search for the product in all the other countries you are signed up with and find the ASIN for the product. The easiest way to do this is when you find the product search for ASIN using ctrl-f. If there are various colours for the product search for the main product page and use the product ASIN so if someone decides to purchase a different colour you still get the commission.

You enter the ASINs in the section below the link found here.

That’s it! Doing this will allow you to increase your revenue by capitalizing on traffic you get from around the world. This process does take a little more work but once you are used to it, it’s only a minute or two extra. The link generator saves your tracking ids so it is just a matter of entering your ASINs and product link into the generator.

Any questions on this process please leave them in the comments!

Let me know if you have tried this and it has increased your revenue.

I was actually just asking someone about this earlier today! I know there is a plugin for WordPress that will do it for you, but I couldn’t find the solution with blogger. Will definitely be taking advantage of this from now on. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Hi! Thank you for your article! I am a new blogger too and I would like to work with Amazon too. If I understood you well, I need to search for the same product 3 different ASIN? So I need to open 3 countries. Correct?

You need to determine where you traffic mainly comes from and open amazon affiliate accounts in those countries so that could be three or any number. Amazon is in many countries! Yes you need to search for the same product in each country for its ASIN! Good luck!
